Case Sudy 1 - Tailored Programme
Terms of Reference
  • To provide a TQM/Continuous Programme for the whole employee group of a major manufacturer.
Objectives
  • To ensure the organisation was customer focused.
  • To ensure everyone became 100% successful in achieving their task.
  • To build a team orientated culture.
Process of delivery
  • A designed programme which was to be in short bursts over a 3 month period for all employees including Senior Managers.
  • A pilot programme was run with KBA tutors. This was then extended to a number of further groups.
  • The programme covered key aspects:
    • Change
    • Quality Customer/Supplier partnerships
    • Problem Solving Techniques
    • Teams and Communications
  • The programme was practical in nature and involved the delegates working in problem solving groups.
Outcomes
  • A shared Quality and Team language has developed.
  • Better Team work has helped to increase Productivity and Profitability.
  • Some problems tackled have led to significant savings/ improvements.
  • Individuals are well prepared to take part in Kaizen activities.
  • The programme has continued into further phases because of the benefits.
